Our Meetings

Due to current Covid 19 restrictions our meetings at the museum are currently suspended. However, despite this, we have more going on than ever for our members and by embracing technology have managed to provide a variety of ways of keeping up the education, inspiration and social aspects of our Guild.

We are holding monthly Zoom meetings on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 14.00 and every Wednesday evening at 19.00, please see schedule below. These include Guild updates, show and tell and talks from members and external speakers.

New members are very welcome to join us, to obtain a meeting link please e-mail chair.yorkwsd@gmail.com and explain that you would like to join a meeting as a visitor.

The specialist weaving group are also holding extra Zoom meetings as detailed below and the specialist dyeing group are in touch via e-mail.

All Zoom meetings are being recorded and will be made available in our Members Area of the website to watch later should they be not be able to attend on the given date.

Wednesday 27th January – Solar Dyeing (Follow up from 16th January talk).

Wednesday 3rd February – Introduction to the Spinning Certificate of Achievement (COA).

Wednesday 10th February – Spinning Questions for new spinners.

Wednesday 17th February – Balancing Twist

Saturday 20th February – Vintage Sock Machine demo by Penny Hemmingway + sock discussion.

Weaving Group Zoom Meeting Dates:

The weaving special interest group Zoom meetings are held on the 1st Saturday of the month at 10.30 and then ten days later on the Tuesday evening at 19.00.
